Terms of Use

These terms apply to use of Santa Clarita Residents Directory. Accessing or using the reference means these terms are accepted. Anyone who does not accept them should leave the pages and not use linked search tools.

1. The Nature of the Reference

Santa Clarita Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public rolls, record indexes, and historical directory collections connected with Santa Clarita, Los Angeles County, and California. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with the City, the County, a court, a library, or another records custodian.

2. Lawful and Careful Use

Use the pages and anything reached through them only for a lawful purpose. Prohibited conduct includes:

  • Stalking, harassing, intimidating, threatening, or harming a person
  • Trying to locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Identity theft, impersonation, fraud, or other unlawful conduct
  • Using information for a purpose controlled by the Fair Credit Reporting Act
  • Scraping or republishing the reference at scale
  • Interfering with the pages, search widgets, or their security

3. No Consumer Reports

This service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. sections 1681 through 1681x. The text here and results supplied by a linked tool are not consumer reports. They may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-covered purpose.

4. External Portals and Providers

County and state portals, library resources, archive collections, sponsored search tools, and other outside services set their own terms, prices, availability, and privacy practices. Santa Clarita Residents Directory does not control or guarantee an outside provider.

5. No Promise of Accuracy

The reference is supplied as is and as available. No warranty is made that a page, link, fee, coverage year, search result, or external portal is accurate, complete, current, or uninterrupted. The named custodian must be consulted before an important decision or record claim.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from use of these pages or an outside resource, including an action based on a record found through them.

7. Responsibility for Misuse

A user agrees to protect and hold the operators harmless from claims, demands, losses, or reasonable attorneys' fees arising from that user's unlawful use, misuse of a record, violation of these terms, or interference with the service.

8. Copyright and Permission

The original writing, layout, logo, and design are protected by copyright. A reader may link to a page or quote a short excerpt with attribution. Full-page republication and systematic copying are not permitted without written permission.

9. Revisions

Terms may be changed by posting a revised version. Continued use after the revision is posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Access Restrictions

The operators may suspend, block, or limit access for a user who violates these terms, abuses a search feature, threatens another person, or creates a security risk. That action may occur without advance notice.

11. California Law and Records Rules

California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The California Public Records Act is Government Code sections 7920.000 through 7931.000. It governs requests to the responsible public agency, not a private reference. California's Consumer Privacy Act and Privacy Rights Act provisions appear in Civil Code sections 1798.100 through 1798.199.100. Neither statute turns this reference into a custodian of a deed, court file, voter record, or vital record.

12. Severability

If a court finds one part of these terms unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to operate to the extent allowed by law.

13. Questions About the Terms

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page. The contact route cannot certify, correct, or remove a government record.
