Information You Send
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search widget is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Santa Clarita Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those searches on its own servers. If you contact the operators, the message and the details you choose to include are available so a reply can be sent.
Routine Technical Logs
The hosting service may record an IP address, browser type, requested pages, referring page, and timestamps. These ordinary logs help keep the pages available, investigate faults, and understand traffic in aggregate. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may use cookies or similar tools when those services are enabled.
How Limited Data Is Used
Information is used to operate the reference, answer a message, measure general traffic, improve content, and address security problems. No visitor list or individual resident profile is built from these operations.
Links to Custodian Portals
The pages link to Los Angeles County, Santa Clarita, California, federal, library, archive, and other third-party resources. Once a reader follows one of those links, that provider's privacy policy controls the submitted information. The same applies to sponsored search results and any account or payment step on an outside portal.
Who Processes Technical Data
Hosting, security, analytics, and advertising providers may process the technical information described above. A provider may receive data needed to deliver its service. Disclosure can also occur when valid legal process requires it. Data is not disclosed to a government office simply because a page discusses a public record.
Security and Retention
The reference is served over an encrypted connection where supported by the host. Technical logs are kept only for the operational, security, and measurement purposes that require them. There are no user accounts here, so the service does not hold a password or resident profile to expose.
Children
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor's information was sent in a message, contact the operators so the message can be reviewed and deleted when appropriate.
California Privacy Choices
California's Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, appears in Civil Code sections 1798.100 through 1798.199.100. Depending on the person's status and the data involved, California law can provide rights to know, access, correct, delete, opt out of sale or sharing, limit sensitive-data use, and avoid discriminatory treatment. Global Privacy Control may act as an opt-out signal where applicable.
Because this reference keeps little direct information, a request usually concerns a message or technical log. Use the Contact page to ask about data held by the operators. A government deed, court file, voter record, or vital record is controlled by its custodian, not by this reference, and a broker deletion request does not erase the public record itself.
Changes to This Policy
A revised policy will be posted here with its updated wording. Continued use after a revision indicates acceptance of the new version.
